Tribute to George Floyd June 8, 2020 One by one, Jesse told all 7 of his sons to go over to Samuel. Finally, Samuel said “Jesse, the Lord hasn’t chosen any of these young men. Are these all the sons you have? There is still the youngest, but he is tending the sheep. “Send for him” Samuel replied. “For we will not sit down to eat until he arrives.” So the mighty Archangel Michael was commissioned to gather and present Beings of hue to the Holy Spirit; Eric Garner (27) July 17, 2014 (selling cigarettes) Michael Brown (18) August 9, 2014* (Grabbed Brown by neck while Brown was in his own car) Tamir Rice (12) November 22, 2014 (Carrying and playing with a toy gun) Sandra Bland (28) July 13, 2015 (Body found hung in her jail cell) Oscar Ramirez Jr. (28) October 27, 2015 (Officer misread his hand movement) Philando Castile (32) July 6, 2016 (Traffic stop, shot in presence of daughter and her mom) One by one, he presented them to the Holy Spirit, but the spirit responded, “There is yet another”. Find him and bring thee to me. So Michael took flight, traveling across lakes, valleys, oceans and continents. During his journey, he encountered countless victims of color. Suddenly like a loud, crackling bolt of lightning resounding through the stratosphere, he heard “I can’t breathe, I can’t breathe” “Momma, Momma”. Michael halted and arrived within moments of a soul, departing from its body. He ever so gently gathered the spiritual essence of this being, carefully encapsulated it in a clear crystal sphere, cloaked it and took flight. Michael returned and rested it on the seventh pillar. The Spirit smiled and said “Well done”. This is the One. The One anointed for the ‘Birth of a new Nation’. Welcome home George Floyd. And so it is that nations across the globe rebelled in a blaring war cry, sending shock waves across the soil of continents. And so the marches and protest make way for a new birth. This tsunami impregnated red, yellow, brown and white people and released its crimson tidal wave across the world, demanding change. So it is that... politicians, preachers, police officers, athletes, NFL & NBA team owners, governors, mayors each humbly prostrated before the world ( ‘By Taking a Knee’) to try to make amends, right wrongs and attempt to erase the decades of scars engraved into the backs of a pilgrimage of people in plight over generations; past and present. So it is that ...Robert E. Lee’s statue was removed in Charlottesville, Virginia’s Market Park So it is that... “Take A Knee” displayed by ostracized and blackballed Colin Kaepernick is now a gesture hailed as a ‘Salute of Honor’ So it is that... serious global discussions about racial equality have ignited all over the world. So it is that ...there’s an abandonment of the old guard and the ushering in of new and progressive laws that are designed to govern and fundamentally rid our society of bias and hold law officers accountable in multiple jurisdictions. Listen, Listen O’ people, do you hear the bells. From the daily tolling of church bells in Europe to the Liberty bell, George Floyd, today and every day, those bells resound and their echo toll for you, the anointed one. As black men and women, we will not sit down to eat until justice arrives for ALL mankind. Rest in Peace George Floyd, rest in peace. Written and composed by Deardra Rose Vallery June 8, 2020 *Biblical passage

May God be with George's family during their time of bereavement. A young vibrant man has left this world to join his Father in heaven, God needed him to be with him, there are times when our love one's leave us and we don't understand why, it's because the good die young even though we don't understand why. Just understand he's with his Maker, he was chosen to make a statement in history that will be remembered for ever. As for his love ones his memories will always be with you. God bless and keep you. Love conquers all.

We're deeply saddened about the loss of George. Many are mourning and grieving with you. I hope you can find comfort in the words found at Psalms 147:3 that says "He (God) heals the broken hearted, and binds up their wounds". May he give you strength to cope with your family's loss, and may time heal your pain. Our thoughts are with you.

Family & Friends, I am taking the time to post my poem entitled, "I Can't Breathe" which was presented to you all as well as distributed at his memorial & funeral. Copies were also give out at his vigil & funeral service. I appreciate the family for their gratitude for acknowledging their acceptance of this piece during the televised broadcast of his funeral. I Can’t Breathe! George Floyd’s Final Words Written by Melinda Woods-Smallwood© “I can’t breathe!” This is what George Floyd of Minneapolis, Minnesota said. “I can’t breathe” Because police officer, Derek Chauvin had his knee on my neck and head. “Please, let me breathe!” You’re putting my heart under distress. “Why won’t you let me breathe?” I’m not resisting arrest. “I can’t breathe!” I’m experiencing intense fear and anxiety due to a panic attack. It’s hard to breathe because two other officers are kneeling with their knees in my back. I can’t breathe, because the officers have me confined and unable to move and I don’t know my fate. “I can’t breathe!” I can feel my heart beginning to palpitate which is causing it to experience irregular forceful beats at a rapid rate. “I can’t breathe!” Don’t you see me gasping for air? “I can’t breathe!” Because of the way you are harshly treating me is unfair. I can breathe because the pressure of your knee on my neck is blocking and narrowing my airway. I’m telling you I can’t breathe, but you’re refusing to listen to anything I say. I can’t breathe! I am already at a disadvantage because it is four of you officers against one. I don’t think you care if I can breathe, because your facial expression and macho position make it look as if you don’t care about what’s being done. “I can’t breathe!” I am already handcuffed, so please let me stand. “I can’t breathe!” This is the blatant mistreatment of a black man. As I lie here lifelessly on my stomach struggling to breathe, the officer continued to ignore my plea and bore down even harder with his knee. I can’t breathe. This must be police brutality at its finest of how you treat an unarmed black man even when he already has handcuffs on his hands. I told him I couldn’t breathe while three other officers watched me beg for my life. Maybe you didn’t care either if I could breathe, because I was black and the four of you were white. I can’t breathe, I moaned as two other officers knelt and held my body under duress. “I can’t breathe!” I could barely utter as I was brutally mistreated and I wasn’t resisting arrest. As it was getting harder to breathe, I called out for my mother because if I die I wanted her to know I love her. I struggled to breathe for a total of nine minutes lying almost motionless and slowly losing my breath, but to the officers’ commands, I still complied. When I could no longer breathe, I took my last breath, laid there lifeless, unresponsive, and died. He couldn’t breathe, but we can so let’s use our breath to demand justice against racial profiling and police brutality against the Black man. He lost his life when a police officer who took an oath to serve and protect obstructed his breathing by putting his knee on George’s neck. Now that he can’t breathe because he died of asphyxiation, mental and physical distress, George no longer has to resist a rest.

Dear George, it took the passing of you for the world to take notice of something that has been going on for over 400 years. As a mother of 4 sons, I pray that in your passing that change does come. Sleep well gentle giant and take your rest from the troubles of this old world. Keep a watch on all of us because we need as much help as we can get. You have sparked something all around the world that will never be forgotten and will go down in history. No more worries for you and now you can breath the sweet aroma of being in the presence of God. Lord, take care of all those who are connected to this young man. I know that it is going to take some time for them all but give them peace while they are trying to understand. Catch each tear and hold them close to Your Heart for safe keeping of their prayers. I know that an angel can't fly with one wing. So You decide to take your son home and give him two. Rest on Gentle Giant and from this mother right here, I love you. Thank you so much for being the person that you were. Because the celebration of your life has showed us all who you were and how much you were loved by so many. Rest On!

I would like to give our Condolences to Mr. George Floyd Family. His MURDER hurt our family to the core of our being. I cried & cried to hear begging for his life. I am a mother & he was my son on that concrete that day. He nor any of us knew what happened to him could Wake Up or Switch the Racism & Injustices to our brothers & sister (BLK & BROWN) on a BLAST THAT IT SHOOK THE ?! HIS DAUGHTER SAID THAT HER DAD CHANGED THE ?. GOD I PRAY THAT THE COMMITMENT FROM MR. FLOYD'S MURDER DOES CHANGE THE ?! SO HIS DAUGHTER CAN LIVE HER LIFE IF & WHEN SHE HAS CHILDREN THAT RACISM WILL BE LIKE SOMEONE SPITTING ON YOU. IT WILL BE NASTY TO HAVE THAT MENTALITY & NO ONE WILL LIKE THE PERSON. HE WAS SUPERMAN TO YOU ALL & NOW HE'S THE SYMBOL OF SUPER HEROIC POWERS FROM UP ABOVE TO THE ?. THAT HIS DEATH ALTHOUGH TRAGIC HE MATTERED TO HIS BLOOD FAMILY/FRIENDS & NOW TO ALL OF HIS ADOPTED SISTER & BROTHERS OF ALL RACES & COLORS. I'M CALLING IT THE "BIG G. FLOYD MOVEMENT" THIS IS A MOVEMENT THAT IS CONSTANTLY IN ACTION TO NEVER SEE A PERSON OF COLOR BE KILLED AT THE HANDS OF POLICE FOR A NONVIOLENT CRIME! WE KNOW IT WILL TAKE TIME BECAUSE THE POLICE OFFICERS HAVE TO CHANGE BAD BEHAVIORS. AND HABITS ARE HARDER TO CHANGE WHEN YOU HAVE RESISTANCE. I'M THANKFUL FOR THE OPPORTUNITY TO LET THE FAMILY THAT THE WORLD IS WITH YOU. CONTINUE TO STAND AS TALL AS YOUR SUPERMAN WAS... STAND TALL GEORGE UNTIL WE SEE YOU IN HEAVEN.

George Floyd's broken body showed everybody the horrific actions "unlawful" policing toward people of colour, that raised the consciousness of racism and hate. He was a king without a crown. He was a super man without a cape. He was chosen by God for such a tumultuous time as this. He is now resting in power and peace.

My condolences, prayers, sympathy & my poem entitled, "I Can't Breathe" which was presented to George Floyd's Family as well as distributed at his memorial & Funeral Service. It was also framed and presented to his family today at his funeral service. I appreciate George's family for their gratitude for acknowledging their acceptance of this piece during the televised broadcast of his funeral. Also, I want to take the time to thank each of you for reading & supporting my work. To God Be the Glory!!! Much ❤️ from me & God above. I Can’t Breathe! George Floyd’s Final Words Written by Melinda Woods-Smallwood© “I can’t breathe!” This is what George Floyd of Minneapolis, Minnesota said. “I can’t breathe!” Because police officer, Derek Chauvin had his knee on my neck and head. “I can’t breathe!” As I lie here almost lifeless on my back. I can’t breathe and I’m wondering if I’ll survive this attack. I can’t breathe, I moaned as two other officers kneeled and held my body under duress. Now that George can’t breathe because he died of asphyxiation, mental and physical distress, he no longer has to resist a rest.
