ELWANDA's playful, loving ways and love of God, her fellowman and her grandkids were remarkable. She extended forgiveness to others in measures that were astounding. With her sights set on God and His kingdom, she was devoted to learning His ways and discipleship was just one of her vehicles. Her brilliance was indisputable; her energy unfailing. Missing her is the cost of knowing, loving and being loved by her. I extend condolences from NYC to all who loved Elwanda and were loved by her.

Elwanda made everyone in her circle feel instantly like family. Her joy, warmth, and quiet strength pushed me to grow and become better. She listened fully, led calmly, and touched more lives than she ever knew. Houston and the world are quieter without her.
My heart is with her family, who lost their engine, their pillar, their light. Rest well, Elwanda. You will always remind us to step outside our comfort zone and never stop learning.
